Êdna (Prekmurian for “one”) is a story of five musical worlds merged into a single whole, connected by incredible musical chemistry and the passion for artistic creation. Êdna’s story began in 2014 when Tjaša released her first record Edno takšo bi rad.
The young artists were inspired by the old musical heritage of the Prekmurje and Porabje regions. Their renditions of folk songs bring about a completely new and unique musical experience. The songs’ strong message and modern musical expression brought together young but already renowned professional musicians (professors, teachers) from the Styria and Prekmurje regions, who were and continue to be active in various music genres (ethno, classical music, jazz, rock, fusion). Each band member contributes their own piece to Êdna’s art of music with their musical experience and skills. Together they form a young yet archaic whole that is so very easy on the ears it brings the listener into a completely new dimension, all while exuding a calm yet inspiring spirit.
Êdna have also won the public call “Ljudska je kul” issued by the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia (2016). The band also performed in the Slovenian pavilion at the World EXPO in Milan, appeared at the 27th International Festival “Noči v stari Ljubljani”, the Jenamen fest in Črenšovci, and made several appearances across the Porabje region and Austria.
In autumn 2018, Celinka Records released their debut album entitled Ajnc, cvaj, draj. Some singles from the album even caught the ears of commercial radio stations and the national television. Their first single earned several top spots on domestic music charts.
